Banana Kiwi Spinach Smoothie Packed with Goodness

Healthy but tasty, this banana kiwi spinach smoothie is packed with goodness and vitamins.

Spinach has long been considered a superfood, and many media outlets and scientific journals have listed the benefits of consuming spinach in depth.

Among many vitamins and minerals, it contains vitamins A and C and folic acid and iron. This smoothie packs two whole cups of spinach but still tastes incredible due to the addition of bananas, kiwis, and freshly-squeezed orange juice!

Ingredients

To make this smoothie, you’ll need the following:

  • Bananas – 2 large bananas, frozen
  • Kiwis – 2
  • Spinach – 2 cups, packed
  • Orange Juice – 1 cup, freshly-squeezed

Step-by-Step Instructions (with photos)

Step 1 – Prep the fruit. Peel the bananas and the kiwis and chop them into chunks. It’s preferable to use frozen bananas in this so freeze them at least 2 hours ahead of time. If you don’t have the time, you can use fresh bananas and just add ice at the end.

Step 2 – Pack the ingredients in the blender, with the frozen bananas going in last (furthest away from the blender’s blade).

Note that if you have a personal blender where the blender blade is on the top instead of the bottom, you’ll want to throw the frozen bananas in first (so that the frozen fruit can be as far away from the blade as possible).

Step 3 – Blend on high for 1 minute or use your blender’s preset smoothie function/button.

Step 4 – If using fresh bananas instead of frozen, add ice and blend.

Serve the smoothie while cold and enjoy all the benefits of this spinach-packed smoothie.
